2. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that the sites visited by the user send directly to the user’s terminal (usually to the browser), where they are stored and then transmitted back to the same sites on the user’s next visit. The use of cookies allows the Site to function efficiently and to improve its performance.

European legislation, in particular Directive 2002/58/EC (the so-called “ePrivacy” Directive), establishes that the storage of information in a user’s terminal equipment, or access to information already stored, is permitted only on condition that the user has given his or her consent after having been clearly and fully informed

3. Types of cookies used by this Site

The Site uses the following types of cookies:

  1. Technical Cookies

These cookies are essential for the proper functioning of the Site and to allow the user to browse safely and efficiently. They do not collect information about the user that could be used for marketing purposes, nor do they track the user’s browsing

Pursuant to the legislation in force, the user’s prior consent is not required for the installation of such cookies

Specifically, the Site uses technical session cookies, whose characteristics are:

  • Purposes: Their use is strictly limited to the transmission of session identifiers (consisting of random numbers generated by the server), necessary to allow safe and efficient browsing of the Site
  • Duration: They are not stored persistently on the user’s computer and are deleted when the browser is closed
  • Third-party access: No third-party access to the information contained in these cookies is envisaged.
  1. Analytics Cookies (comparable to technical cookies)

The Site uses cookies provided by the Google Analytics service to collect and analyse, in aggregate and anonymous form, statistical information on users’ browsing behaviour (e.g. most visited pages, time spent, geographical origin)

In order to protect users’ privacy and to make these cookies comparable to technical cookies, the Controller has adopted specific measures in accordance with the guidance of the supervisory authorities

  1. Anonymisation of the IP address: A mechanism has been activated that masks part of the user’s IP address before it is saved by Google’s servers, significantly reducing its identifying power.
  2. Prevention of data cross-referencing: The service has been configured so as to prevent Google from cross-referencing the information collected through the Site with other information already in its possession.

By virtue of these measures, the use of these cookies does not require the user’s prior consent.

The characteristics of these cookies are:

  • Purposes: To collect statistical information in aggregate and anonymous form in order to analyse the use of the Site and optimise its operation
  • Duration: The period of activity of these cookies is defined by the third-party provider (Google). For specific details on their duration, please refer to the documentation provided by Google.
  • Third-party access: The information collected is accessible to Google, Inc., as the service provider.

4. General principles on consent (where applicable)

Although this Site uses exclusively technical or comparable cookies for which consent is not required, the user is informed that, should cookies requiring consent (e.g. profiling or marketing cookies) be implemented in the future, such consent must be validly expressed.

  1. Managing and disabling cookies

Users can manage their cookie preferences directly within their browser and prevent, for example, third parties from installing them. Through the browser preferences it is also possible to delete cookies installed in the past. It is important to note that by disabling all cookies, the functioning of this Site may be compromised.

Users can find information on how to manage cookies in their browser at the following addresses (by way of example):

  • Google Chrome
  • Mozilla Firefox
  • Apple Safari
  • Microsoft Edge

As regards Google Analytics cookies, in addition to management via the browser, Google provides an add-on for deactivating the service, which can be installed on the main browsers. For more information, please refer to Google’s privacy policy and to the methods for deactivating the service indicated by the provider.

6. Communication, Dissemination and Transfer of Data

The data collected through cookies will not be disseminated. They may be communicated to personnel authorised by the Controller and to third parties carrying out outsourced activities on behalf of the Controller (e.g. technical service providers), appointed, where necessary, as Data Processors.

  1. Rights of Data Subjects

As a data subject, the user has the right to exercise the rights provided for in Articles 15 to 22 of the GDPR, including

  • Access to their personal data (Art. 15);
  • Rectification of inaccurate data or completion of incomplete data (Art. 16);
