Located in northern Tuscany, between the Apennines and the Tyrrhenian Sea, Lucca is shaped by\na highly variable climate that has historically encouraged the presence of complementary grape\nvarieties across its territory, ensuring consistent quality in the harvest.
While the Apennines bring abundant, well-distributed rainfall throughout the year along with\nsignificant night-time temperature swings, the Tyrrhenian Sea provides steady ventilation and\nexcellent light exposure.<\/p>

The soils, geologically young, originate from the two most typical Tuscan formations: the\ncalcareous marl known as alberese, rich in clay, and the sandstone of the Tuscan macigno. In\nsome areas, these elements are skillfully blended to create terroirs of great prestige, where the\npower and longevity provided by clay soils harmoniously combine with the elegance and\nminerality derived from sandstone.

The relative geological youth of the area ensures good natural fertility, expressed in the vigor and\nstrength of the vines, allowing them to adapt even to the most climatically extreme vintages.

T E R R I T O R I O Colline Lucchesi Posta nel nord della Toscana, tra Appennino e Mar Tirreno, Lucca \u00e8 caratterizzata da un clima fortemente variabile, che ha storicamente favorito la presenza, sul suo territorio, di vitigni complementari, che potessero assicurare una qualit\u00e0 costante nel raccolto.Se l\u2019Appennino garantisce infatti una piovosit\u00e0 abbondante e diffusa durante tutto l\u2019anno a fronte di una sensibile escursione termica notturna, il Tirreno assicura una ventilazione e un ottimo apporto di luce. Questo connubio ha favorito, da un lato, la presenza di un\u2019estesa superficie boschiva che dai ripidi colli si spinge fino alle montagne e, dall’altro, lo sgorgare di acque purissime dalle numerose sorgenti disseminate lungo tutte le colline che vengono cos\u00ec ad assumere la tipica colorazione verde intenso che caratterizza il paesaggio. Gli inverni miti che sbocciano in precoci primavere, la modesta escursione termica, i versanti delle colline che proteggono i vigneti dall\u2019umidit\u00e0 e dalle brinate tipiche della piana di Lucca, la disponibilit\u00e0 idrica e l\u2019esposizione a mezzogiorno permettono alle vigne di godere di un periodo vegetativo molto lungo e di svolgere una buona attivit\u00e0 fotosintetica anche durante i mesi estivi, garantendo cos\u00ec una piena maturit\u00e0 delle uve e buone rese nel raccolto. I terreni, geologicamente giovani, derivano dalle due conformazioni pi\u00f9 tipicamente toscane: la marna calcarea di alberese, argillosa, e l\u2019arenaria del macigno toscano, che in alcuni casi sono sapientemente mescolati per creare dei \u201cterroir\u201d di grande prestigio, nei quali la potenza e la longevit\u00e0 assicurata dai terreni argillosi si possa sposare con la serbevolezza che deriva dai minerali che caratterizzano l’arenaria. La relativa giovinezza geologica dell\u2019area garantisce cos\u00ec una buona fertilit\u00e0 che si esprime nel vigore e nella forza delle viti, che possono cos\u00ec adattarsi anche alle annate climaticamente pi\u00f9 estreme. \u00c8 questo connubio unico di clima e territorio, che favorisce un\u2019ottima maturazione dell\u2019uva a livello di colore e di tannini, a dare vita a vini particolarmente morbidi e intensi, prevalentemente bianchi nel versante occidentale e rossi in quello orientale.
